Waunita June Eaton

Waunita June (Riley) Eaton Waunita June (Riley) Eaton, passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2015 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma; she was 93 years old. She was born July 3, 1921 in Grainola, Osage County, Oklahoma; she was the oldest child of Fred and Dottie (Herrington) Riley. Waunita was raised by her grandparents, Alfred Loren and Delitha (Pullam) Herrington. She was the 1938 Arkalala Queen at Ark City, Kansas and graduated from Grainola High School in 1939. Waunita married Francis Lehman Eaton on February 6, 1940 at Newkirk, Kay County, Oklahoma. The couple made their home in the Grainola area for 66 years where they operated a family farm and dairy in Osage County for 51 years; they won many awards for their milk production. Waunita was a homemaker, active church member, Sunday School teacher, 4-H leader member of the Grainola Home Demonstration Club, and a PEO past president; she enjoyed many hobbies: sewing, painting, gardening, cooking, ceramics and community involvement. She enjoyed travel in her later years. Waunita and Francis had four children: Benny (Brenda) Eaton, Greenfield, Indiana; Bertha Jane Badley (Donnie) Woods, Pawnee, Oklahoma; Francis Catherine (Mark) Archambo, Bartlesville and Paul Lee Eaton (deceased). Grandchildren are Brent Eaton, Greenfield, Indiana; Laura Barnard, Greenwood, Indiana; Mary Lee Dooley, Allen, Oklahoma; Teri Ann Vogele, Ponca City, Oklahoma; John Badley, Wichita, Kansas; William Badley, Winfield, Kansas; Ashley Anderson, Woodbridge, Virginia; Aaron Archambo, Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Justin Archambo, Boise, Idaho; Dustin Archambo, Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Timothy Archambo, Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Lindsey Archambo, Bartlesville, Oklahoma; Alexis Archambo, Roseville, California, and Jason Archambo, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, and a number of great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. Funeral services for Mrs. Eaton will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, March 16, 2015 at the First Nazarene Church with Pastor Brad Swygard officiating. Graveside services will be held at 2 P.M. on Monday at the Maple City Cemetery at Maple City, Kansas directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. PDF Printable Version
