Virginia Marie Widener

Virginia Marie Widener, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, went to be with Jesus on August 6, 2025, in her hometown of Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She was born on December 7, 1954, to Glen and Lenora Currin, and spent her life embodying the values of love, generosity, and selflessness that she learned from her parents. On November 16, 1984, Marie married the love of her life, Austin Widener, in Bartlesville. Together, they built a life filled with laughter, love, and countless cherished memories. They spent many years fishing, bowling and traveling together. They shared a love of Christmas and spoiling their grandkids. Marie was preceded in death by Austin, but his spirit remained a guiding light in her life. Marie graduated from ORU and immediately started working in the oilfield industry in Bartlesville. She worked alongside Austin for 30 years for several companies, including Applied Automation, Siemens, and ABB. Through her work, she touched the lives of many and created countless friendships that meant the world to her. She was the best mama to Kevin and Amy, as well as the best mema/ grandma to her grandsons Matthew, Andrew, William, Levi, and Benjamin who carry on her legacy of kindness and laughter. Marie was not just a mom; she was a best friend, a confidant, and a source of unwavering support for her children. She loved her grandchildren fiercely and she delighted in being with them and creating wonderful memories. She was the best sleepover manager, Christmas hot cocoa maker, and did her best to never miss a special moment in their lives. Marie was preceded in death by her husband Austin, mother Lenora, father Glen, two brothers Meredith and Louis, three sisters Shirley, Marilyn and Alta, and one grandson, Jesse. She leaves behind her son Kevin, wife Elizabeth and their two sons, Matthew and Andrew, Her daughter Amy, Husband Daniel and their children, William, Levi and Benjamin, her sister Louise and husband Don Powell, her brother Arlon and wife Kay Currin, her sister-in-law Vickie and husband Rick Lockman and the best mother in law in the world, Zelma Widener. She leaves behind countless nieces and nephews. She also leaves behind two precious puppies that loved her so much, Oscar and Charlie. Marie will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
