Scott Edward Butler

Scott Edward Butler, 32, passed away from a long-term illness on August 9, 2025, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born in Bakersfield, California, on April 14, 1993. In the summer of 2021, Scott and his wife, Lindsy, made their home in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, Lindsy of Sallisaw, OK; his father, John Butler; and his mother, Beatriz Zaragoza of Nowata, OK. He is also survived by his aunt and uncle, Sean and Jennifer Johnson of Idaho; his sister, Gabrielle Zaragoza, brother-in-law, Emilio Parugrug, and nephew, Ezekiel Parugrug, all of Nowata. Along with his brother Jacob Dobbs of Sallisaw, OK. Scott had many beloved family members and friends across various states and communities, including his sisters-in-law, Cassie and Alexis Mazza of Bakersfield, CA; his brother, his grandparents, Bob and Judy Watson of Gilmer, TX; his father- and mother-in-law, Bobby and Holly Howell Watson of Gilmer, TX; his Aunt and Uncle Robert and Robin of McAlester, OK; his great-aunt Mary of Lancaster, CA; his friend Jefferey Chickeral of Bakersfield, CA and he and Lindsy’s lifelong friend Camilla McGowan of Kansas City, MO. Scott is preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Linda Butler, and his mother-in-law, Dawndi Mazza Blackwood. Scott had many passions and interests that he cherished throughout his life. He had a deep love for animals and considered many of his dogs to be his best friends, including his current dog, Lucas. He loved music, collecting Funko Pops, and cheering for the Miami Dolphins, Kansas City Chiefs, and many other sports teams and players. He enjoyed playing video games and spending time with his many friends and family. Scott was a talented drummer and could play most instruments by ear. He was a hard worker, a talented passionate mechanic, a handyman and painter. One of Scott’s greatest attributes was his sense of humor and his ability to make everyone around him laugh. He had a tremendous amount of compassion and a big heart. He touched the lives of everyone who met him and knew him. Though Scott’s time on earth was short, it was impactful and his life was deeply cherished by the many family and friends who love him dearly. He will be missed tremendously as we all move forward in life without him.
