Mrs. Dorothy Lou Hallaway Mrs. Dorothy Lou Hallaway, 82, a longtime Bartlesville resident, died at 7:32 P.M. on Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center. Services for Mrs. Hallaway will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at the Adams Blvd. Church of Christ with Mr. David Hammonds officiating. Memorial services and cremation will be under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. Friends who wish may call for visitation at the Stumpff Funeral Home on Monday evening until 9 P.M. and on Tuesday from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. as the casket will not be present at the services. Mrs. Hallaway was born at Springfield, Missouri on September 25, 1932 the daughter of John Russell Byron Ellis and Wanda Elizabeth (Beck) Ellis. She grew up in and received her education in the Springfield area until moving to Bartlesville with her family while in her early teenage years. She completed her education in Bartlesville, graduating from College High School in 1950. She was married to Emmett Dudley Hallaway in Bartlesville on September 16, 1950. They have made their home in Bartlesville most all of their married life. Mrs. Hallaway had been active as a professional artist for many years, with several of her pieces being award winners and developing collectors worldwide. She was a member of the Adams Blvd. Church of Christ (formerly 6th & Dewey Church of Christ), was on the Board of Directors of War Eagle in Arkansas, was a member of the Bartlesville Art Association and was instrumental in the organization and startup of Sunfest. Mrs. Hallaway is survived by her husband, Emmett Dudley Hallaway, her three children, Jerri McCollum and husband Dennis, John Russell (Rusty) Hallaway and wife Jennifer and E. Dudley Hallaway and wife Leslie all of Bartlesville, her sister-in-law, Carolyn Ellis of Land O’Lakes, Florida, twelve grandchildren, Michel Duncan, Carrie Bunnell, Matt Hensley, Danielle McCollum, Rachelle Lowe, Lindsay Hallaway, Courtney Hallaway, Derek Hallaway, Brenen Riggs, Danica Moles, Ian Hallaway and Jacquin Hallaway, 14 great grandchildren, and a nephew, Martin Ellis of Land O’Lakes, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, John Raymond Ellis and a nephew, Daryl Ellis.
