Carol Hopkins

Carol Hopkins, 72, of Dewey, Oklahoma, passed away on May 26, 2022, after a plentiful life. Carol was born on October 24, 1949, to Edward Ogans and Laureesa (Russel) Ogans in Bartlesville Oklahoma. After graduating from Bartlesville high school in [high school graduation year], she landed her first job in the oil and gas industry working in applied automation for Phillips 66, from here she transitioned into the beauty and cosmetology industry as a licensed cosmetologist for JC Penny Salon for over fifteen years as well as Pretty and Pink Salon, and the BIOS corporation as a certified nurse aide. Carol had many accomplishments, and major milestones in her life. In 1987, she became a licensed cosmetologist, this was one of her proudest moments, as she embarked on a new path doing hair for over 15 years. She was an employment specialist, and received an award for orientation and competency, certified medication administration, and an award for promotions and merit. She had many joys, but cooking was her favorite, she loved nature and feeding birds, traveling, old movie classics and a deep love of reading. When Carol had her children, she decided to dedicate her life to being a fantastic and wonderful mother. Carol excelled at propping up all members of her family and supporting them through the many passions and difficulties of their lives. Carol made it her mission to improve the lives of others. She was passionate when it came to her family, and when she wasn’t filling her home with warmth and kindness, she could be found outside, enjoying her favorite piece of nature from her front yard. We will miss her greatly. Carol was predeceased by her father, Ogans, her mother, Laureesa Ogans, sister, Patsy Ogans, and her brother, Karl Ogans. Carol is survived by her sons; Louis Leo Hopkins Jr. of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Michael Dion Hopkins, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, her daughter, Naomi Penessa Martin, of Houston, Texas, and Edward L. Martin of Angleton, Texas, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, ten, nieces and nephews, her sisters; Janet Ogans, of Owasso, Oklahoma, Lajoyce Ogans of Dewey, Oklahoma, and a host of other family and friends. A memorial service will be held at the Bartlesville Community Center, on Monday June 13, 2022, with Pastor Ralph Beavers and Reverend Owen Hal? Viewing will be in the Studio gallery 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, a slideshow will be in the bottom Dyers, service will begin at 2:00 PM.
