Jo Ann Stumpff

JoAnn Stumpff, age 83, of Bartlesville, OK passed away peacefully after an extended illness on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at The Journey Home in Bartlesville. JoAnn was born on February 23, 1935 in Plainview, TX, the daughter of Floyd M Lawson and Frances Louise Eldredge. She graduated from Grandfield High School in 1953. While in high school, she excelled in numerous activities including band, sports and cheerleading. After high school, JoAnn attended Central Christian College in Bartlesville obtaining a degree in Arts graduating in May of 1955. She met and married Paul Stumpff while at college, they dated for a period of time then married on August 21, 1955. After college, JoAnn worked at the First National Bank, now Arvest, as a book keeper for a couple of years. Next, she worked at Cities Service Oil Co. for approximately 5 years in the joint interest department until the children came along. JoAnn was instrumental in helping to start the Stumpff Funeral Home with her sister-in-law Doris along with Paul and his brother Keith. Long days and nights and a lot of sacrifices were required in those early days. She also helped run the Stumpff Flower Shop in Dewey and was a licensed real estate agent working at Stumpff Realtors for a period of time. JoAnn then worked with her husband Paul at Stumpff Insurance as the chief accountant and manager of Premium Credit Corporation until her well deserved retirement at age 65. Throughout her life, JoAnn enjoyed bowling, tennis, golf and traveling. They were blessed to have traveled to all 50 states and several foreign countries. But her greatest joy was for our Heavenly Father God, her husband and her family. She was a long-time member of the 6th & Dewey Church of Christ which then became Adams Blvd Church of Christ. JoAnn is survived by her husband of 63 years Paul, her sons Rick and Randy and his wife Becky; six grandchildren- Krista Porter and her husband Lee of Deer Creek, Cassandra Kindley and her husband Sean of Katy, TX, Tanner Stumpff, Kayla Lake, Ryan and Kaitlyn; also 3 great grandchildren- Cassandra and Sean’s daughter Alice and Krista and Lee’s 2 sons Lee, Jr. and Andrew. JoAnn also has 4 step brothers Nick Rainey, Joe Rainey, John Rainey and David Rainey. Additionally, she has 5 brothers-in-laws Larry Stumpff and his wife Linda, Keith Stumpff and his wife Ruth, Windell Stumpff (deceased), Jerry Stumpff and wife Carol and Ron Stumpff and his wife Joyce, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. A public visitation has been scheduled for Tuesday, August 28th, 2018 from 6:00-8:00 PM. A celebration of JoAnn’s life will be held on Wednesday, August 29th, 2018 at 11:00 AM at the chapel of the Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville with a burial following at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville. Friends who wish may call for visitation until 8:00 PM Tuesday as the casket will remain closed at the services.
