Mr. William Murray “Bill” King Mr. William Murray “Bill” King, 85, of Tonkawa and formerly of Bartlesville and Atoka, died at 5:45 A.M. on Monday, February 12, 2018 at the Willow Haven Nursing Home in Tonkawa. Funeral services for Mr. King will be held at 1 P.M. on Thursday, February 15, 2018 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. David Hammonds of the Legacy Church of Christ officiating. Interment will be in the Oglesby Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory in Bartlesville. Casket escorts will include Tim Denning, Jason Cunningham and Jeremy McNeice. Mr. King was born at Ochelata, Oklahoma on July 31, 1932 the son of John C. and Orta (Stallsworth) King. He grew up and received his education in the Steel Camp area until attending College High School in Bartlesville where he graduated. He was employed at Reda Pump until entering the U.S. Air Force and serving in Newfoundland during the Korean Conflict. Following his Honorable Discharge, he returned to Reda Pump where he remained until his retirement as a lead inspector after 43 years of service. He had been active in cattle ranching in the Pawhuska area and then moved to Atoka where he was active in cattle ranching. He moved to Tonkawa to make his home near his daughter and son-in-law in 2009. He loved ranching and being outdoors and had been a faithful member of the Church of Christ since the time of his military service. Survivors include two daughters, Virginia Lynn “Ginny” Smith of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Cathy Denning and her husband Tim of Tonkawa, one brother, James King and wife Phyllis of Dewey, three sisters, Mona June Dixon and husband Junior of Blackwell, Donna Matsushima and Evelyn Davis both of Bartlesville, two grandchildren, Lynsey Cunningham and husband Jason of Dewey, and Jeremy McNeice and wife Caitlen of Dewey and two great grandchildren, Benjamin McNeice and Eleanor McNeice. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Roseana Franks, a brother Jack and a sister, Lorene in their childhoods and one son, William McKinley King in 1999. The family would like to express a special thank you to Dr. Walcher, Dr. Palmer. Willow Haven Nursing Home and Hospice of North Central Oklahoma. The family also suggest memorial donations to the church of the donor’s choice.
