Velma Nadine Davis

Velma Nadine Davis, 79, passed away Sunday October 2, 2022. Nadine was born at her home on October 18th, 1942, the daughter of A. H. Peters and Jimmy Lee Peters. Nadine grew up in Wild Horse and in Skiatook. She married and had four children. Nadine served in Prue as a Sunday school and Bible teacher at the First Baptist Church. As her children grew, she became a nurse at the Medical Art Center in Skiatook and served for thirty years. She as well served her community on the ambulance as a paramedic. Nadine enjoyed camping with family, sewing, gardening and antiquing (Junking) with her sister Susie. She was known for her fried chicken and stuffed bell peppers. Her strong faith in Jesus and the love he gives poured over into her love for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is proceeded in death by her father, A. H. Peters, mother, Jimmy Lee Peters; brother, Arvil Peters; nephew, Lee Peters; brother-in-law, Leroy Long, and Her precious friend, Dorothy Lee Horton. Left behind to cherish her memory, her dear friend and companion, Jim Horton; Jim’s four children, Scotty Horton, Steve Horton, Stan Horton (Andi), Len Horton (Debb); sons, Kenny Surrett (Jamie) and Kevin Surrett (Jennifer); daughters, Renee McKay (Mike) and Patty Juby (Marc); two sisters, Shirley Long and Janice Eades (Gene); five brothers, Roy Lee Peters (Joann), Boyd Peters (Susie), Loy Peters (Brenda), Ronnie Peters (Brenda), Benny Peters (Vickie); sixteen grandchildren, forty-seven great grandchildren, five great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews she loved and cherished. Her children will cherish her memory for their lifetime. Pallbearers will be, Will Surrett, Michael McKay, Kevin Surrett Jr., Joshua Clark, Bryce Juby, and Colby Juby. Honorary Pallbearers will be Tuffy Surrett, Doug Broom, Jacob Hanson, Steve Horton, Stan Horton, and Len Horton. Visitation will be on Wednesday October 5, 2022, from 5-8PM at Stumpff Skiatook Funeral Home. The funeral service will be Thursday October 6, 2022, at 10:00 AM at Stumpff Skiatook Funeral home. Burial will follow at Osage Gardens Cemetery.
