Mr. Theodore Fredrick “Ted” Schwermer Mr. Theodore Fredrick “Ted” Schwermer, 84, of Bartlesville, died Thursday morning, April 25, 2013 at his home. The Schwermer family will receive guests at a reception from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Monday, April 29, 2013 at the Stumpff Funeral Home. Private family services are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers the Schwermer family requests that memorial donations be made to Elder Care, 1223 Swan Drive, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74006. Mr. Schwermer was born at Chamois, Missouri on December 13, 1928 the son of William and Mae (Lehman) Schwermer. He grew up and received his education at Sedalia, Missouri where he graduated from Smith Cotton High School. He then enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and following his Honorable Discharge he was married to Dorothy Jane Knerl on October 3, 1948 at Sedalia, Missouri. He began his employment with B.F. Goodrich Co. at Sedalia, Missouri, received promotions and worked for them at various locations until closing his career as a zone manager with Goodrich in Oklahoma City following 15 years of service. The Schwermer family came to Bartlesville in 1964 and he opened TECO Home Appliances and Red Apple Sports Center. He was also involved in many other businesses in Bartlesville over the years. In his earlier years he had been active in the Jaycees organization and at one time served as a Jaycees chapter president. He was an avid bowler and golfer and a member of the East Cross United Methodist Church. Mr. Schwermer is survived by his wife, Mrs. Dorothy Jane Schwermer of the home, two sons, Gary Schwermer and his wife Cindy and Terry Schwermer all of Bartlesville, one brother, Clyde Schwermer and wife Linda of Sedalia, Missouri, a sister-in-law, Willa Schwermer of Stover, Missouri, three granddaughters, Kelly Murphy and husband Kevin, Kristy Feeler and husband Quinton and Ealisa Adams and husband Tyler, and five great grandchildren, Addison, Kaden, Emerson, Gracyn and Emery. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Deneen Schwermer and Jim Schwermer. PDF Printable Version
