Rodney Dewitt Looney Mr. Rodney Dewitt Looney, 71, of Bartlesville, died at 12:05 A.M. on Thursday, March 22, 2012 at the Jane Phillips Medical Center in Bartlesville. Graveside funeral services for Mr. Looney will be held at 11 A.M. Saturday, March 24, 2012 at the Mound Valley Cemetery at Mound Valley, Kansas with Pastor William Reitz of the Goodman Baptist Church at Goodman, Missouri officiating. Funeral services and interment will be under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory in Bartlesville. Mr. Looney’s family will receive guests at the Stumpff Funeral Home on Friday, March 23, 2012 from 5 P.M. until 7 P.M. Mr. Looney was born at Coffeyville, Kansas on May 19, 1940 to Emmett Emerald and Mildred Faye (Hoffman) Looney. He grew up primarily in Mound Valley, Kansas but also spent brief periods in Lenapah, Oklahoma and Cherryvale, Kansas. He was married to Mary Frances Kelley at the First Baptist Church in Chetopa, Kansas and they made their home in Chetopa and Coffeyville and he was employed with Bunny Bread. He later moved to Bartlesville where he was employed as a machinist with TRW-Reda Pump until his retirement. He was married to Zelma Jean Whistler and she preceded him in death in 1990. Mr. Looney is survived by three daughters, Robin Reitz and husband Thomas of Neosho, Missouri, Rhonda Irene Franklin and husband Lee of Acworth, Georgia, and Rachael Lynn Butler and husband Ed of St. Paul, Kansas, four step children, Nancy Elizabeth Thompson Ellis and husband David of Visalia, California, Ricky Whistler and wife Lena of Bartlesville, Lori Leahann McCowan and husband Randy of Bartlesville and Michael David Whistler of Bartlesville, two sisters, Patricia Merrick of Parsons, Kansas and Carolyn Rickard of Mound Valley, Kansas, seven grandchildren, William Reitz, Jacob Johnston, Michael Reitz, Matthew Johnston, April Harding Phillips, Alex Butler, and Leah Butler, and one great grandchild, Kale Harding, sixteen step grandchildren, Brad Whistler, Ricky Whistler II, William Whistler, Jessica Vanderpool, Greg Strebe, Retha Thompson, Travis Thompson, Cody Thompson, Adam Thompson, Duncan Thompson, Maxxwel Martin, Kara Creador, Mycall Wilson, Kandon Wilson, Kaylin Wilson and Katelynn Lamb and thirteen step great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, a step son, Norman Ray “Butch” Whistler on March 17, 2012 and a grandson, Zachary Scott Harding in November of 2011. PDF Printable Version
