Richard Almon Le Mahieu, Jr

Richard Almon Le Mahieu, Jr., (Alley Cat), 70 died Thursday, April 28, 2016 at his home in Bartlesville. He was born November 28, 1945 in Allegan, Michigan to Richard A. Le Mahieu, Sr. and Odessa Marie Humphrey Le Mahieu. His mother died at an early age and he was raised by his great aunt and uncle, Harvey and Audrey Humphrey in Chickasha, Oklahoma with his sister Barbara. He later moved to Bartlesville and became involved in the Boy Scouts. He loved taking trips with them and working on merit badges. He made friends in the Scouts that lasted many years. He also served in the Oklahoma National Guard. He leaves a sister, Barbara Mahan & husband Jim and family of Corpus Christi, TX. One of the best things Richard did was to introduce himself to Bob Korthase as “Alley Cat”. Bob became a friend who stuck with Richard for many years and helped him countless times and in countless ways as a labor of love. On a close friend basis, which is really important under circumstances that Richard dealt with, Rick Ballard was in a class of his own. He knew Richard from way back and over the years he was there for Richard when he was needed, night or day. Richard’s last landlord, Chris Ambler was a shining star in Richard’s life. Chris stepped in as a new landlord for Richard at a time when he was in danger of losing his home because of condition issues that had not been adequately addressed by previous landlords for a number of years. Chris went above and beyond to make Richard’s home something he was proud of. He got involved with the Humble Road Church and knew he was loved and that he had found a family. He reportedly had his own place to sit and everyone knew it was only for Richard. His service will be at 11:00 AM Friday May 6 at the Humble Road Church. He loved to read his Bible to friends and share it with them.
