Rachel Lyn Dudley

RACHEL LYN DUDLEY January 3, 1976 - June 2, 2019 Rachel Lyn Dudley, loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend passed away into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on June 2, 2019 after a bold and courageous battle with breast cancer. She never let it slow her down and lived her life with gratitude. Rachel was born on January 3, 1976 in Laguna Beach, CA to Jay Miller Neeley and Phyllis Joan Neeley. She married David Dudley on May 18, 2001. Together, they brought 3 beautiful children into the world: Autumn Iola (13), Audrey Phyllis (11), and Jim David (9). Rachel grew up in Porterville, CA where she graduated from Monache High School with high honors. She went on to attend Brigham Young University and earned her Bachelor’s Degree. Rachel was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. At 21, she served 18 months in Toronto, Canada as a missionary. David and Rachel began their life together in Lehi, Utah and she soon started her work as a Cyto-Genetic Lab Technician. After 12 years in Utah, they moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma where they have resided ever since. Rachel developed a love for books and reading at a young age. There weren’t ever enough books for her to read. She quickly passed her love of reading on to her children. Up until she passed away, Rachel spent every night with her children reading a new chapter book they found at the library. Rachel was always up for trying something new. She always searched for new things she could experience with her family. Some of her favorites were finding new places to explore and visit, trying new crafts, riding roller coasters and visiting haunted houses during Halloween. She enjoyed baking, watching cooking shows, listening to podcasts and finding good shows on Netflix. She was so kind to everyone she met. Her smile, sweet voice and witty humor blessed so many. She never said anything negative about anyone. Being with her family brought her the most happiness. It didn’t matter what was going on; she found joy in just being together. She didn’t sweat the small stuff and went with the flow of life. A few months ago she wrote , “The breast cancer club is not a fun club to have to join, but it is full of the absolute best people”. Rachel was THE best. Rachel was preceded in death by her father, Jay Neeley. She is survived by her brother Wesley Neeley, sister Alison Carter, sister Dawna Bentley and sister Jessica Farmer. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 14, 2019 at 11 a.m. in the Bartlesville 1st Ward LDS Chapel at 1501 Swan Dr., Bartlesville, OK. A private family prayer service will be held prior to the funeral at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville.
