Nancy Jane Cowell

Nancy Cowell, aged 74, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 7, 2025. Nancy was born on August 26, 1950, in Norwood, MA, to the late John and Caroline Allan. She was the oldest of three children. Nancy made her living in dentistry; first as a hygienist, receiving her degree in Hygiene from Forsyth Institute in Lowell, MA, and spent the last 25 years as a dentist, earning her DDS from Tufts University in Boston after serving in the United States Army. Despite her many professional achievements, she most valued her faith in Jesus, having accepted Him in her early teens. Her belief defined and guided her lifetime of service as a loving single mom who raised two kids, and as a devoted wife to the love of her life and fellow servant, the late Welcome Cowell. She enjoyed spending time and serving with her church family at Calvary Chapel Bartlesville, where she taught Sunday school; started a food bank and a lending library. She ran her own dental practice, Morningstar Dental, named after Revelations 22:16, conceiving it not just as a dental office to serve the health needs of the community, but as a ministry that would glorify God and serve spiritual needs as well. She volunteered her time at Hope Dental using a mobile dental van to provide free care to the uninsured. She was also devoted to Christian Women’s Trailriders, combining her love of horses with service, among other ministries. She displayed the love of Jesus in her character: her generosity; her kindness; always thinking of others before herself; always willing to help those in need; and always willing to share the hope of the gospel. She had a fruitful life fighting the good fight, finishing her race, and keeping the faith, looking forward to hearing, “well done, good and faithful servant.” She is survived by her son Chris, her sister Jan, and her adopted family, the Lowerys. Also, by her stepchildren Jeremy, Tyler, and Alena; grandchildren Brittney, Saje, Kaley, Kiley, Eleanora, and Harrison; and two great-granddaughters, Ryn and Vale.
