Mark Steven Ulbricht Mark Steven Ulbricht passed away on Thursday May 19 2016, after a three-year battle with cancer. He spent his final days surrounded by family in his Bartlesville, Oklahoma home. Mark was born on Dec. 7, 1963, in Houston, Texas, to Nolan and Geraldine (Kahlden) Ulbricht. He graduated from Houston’s Northbrook High School in 1982 and from Christ for the Nations Institute in Dallas in 1984. He served as a youth pastor for two years in Houma, LA and became a full-time missionary in 1986, a calling to which he would dedicate his life. Mark lived and served in Malaysia, Indonesia, Bangladesh and China, and founded the nonprofit organization Speed the Seed, which is dedicated to helping Christians in Asia. He went on to become Vice President of International Ministries for The Voice of the Martyrs, where he led the work in 68 countries. Mark was known for his humility and self-sacrifice as well as his generosity to others with both his time and resources. He had a deep understanding of many cultures and a knack for helping others view things from the perspective of those cultures. Mark was committed to sharing the truth of Christ throughout the world and to training the next generation of Christian believers. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Nolan Ulbricht in 2014. Mark is survived by two sons, Steven and David, and their mother, Amy of Jacksonville, FL; Mark’s mother, Geraldine Ulbricht of Arlington, TX; sisters Carol and husband Michael Ross of Arlington, TX, and Nancy and husband Joe Cowan of Boston; nieces Madeline and husband Greg O'Bryan, Natalie Ross and nephew Matthew Ross.
