Margaret Ann Boesiger

Our beloved, Margaret Ann Boesiger passed peacefully in her home with her two daughters and caregivers by her side, February 27, 2025 at the age of 86. She lived gracefully with dementia and breast cancer for many years without complaint. Her family feels at peace, she is now with her Lord and Savior. Born in Ogallala, Nebraska, to C.G. and Lenore Schwentker, she graduated from Ogallala High School in 1956. Margaret attended the University of Nebraska, majoring in Education, with an emphasis in music. Her first teaching position in San Francisco was short-lived, as her college sweetheart Dwight Boesiger drove out to propose and bring her back to the Midwest. They spent their early years of marriage in Lawrence, Kansas, and Ames, Iowa, before making their ultimate home in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Family time was Margaret’s ultimate joy. She adored her two grandsons and enjoyed card games, board games, museums, concerts, walks, and traveling. One of her part-time jobs was acting as “co-pilot” for her husband in their single-engine plane, which took them across the country visiting family and friends over four decades. As a 57-year resident of Bartlesville, she had a gift of teaching and shared her love of music. Her home was a revolving door for families with hundreds of piano students taught over the years. In the words of one of her students, “Mrs. Boesiger was one of the most impactful figures of my childhood. In title, she was just my piano teacher, but she taught me lessons about life that I continue to carry with me even as an adult. I am so lucky to have had a teacher like her in my life.” Always active, rarely resting, she was found around town supporting philanthropic endeavors, joining service organizations, attending multiple bridge groups, and delivering goodies to nursing homes and shut-ins. Fully immersed in the culture of Bartlesville, she approached everything with passion as the heart and soul of any group to which she belonged. Margaret cherished her dear relationships made through PEO, Chi Omega Alumni, Good Shepherd Church, and Suzuki Music among many others. Her bright smile and kindness will be remembered. Margaret is survived by daughters Michelle Reimer (Tom) of Shady Shores, TX; and Amy Kerr (Brandon) of Cypress, TX; and grandsons Ty and Bo Kerr. She is preceded in death by sons Mark and Sean, husband Dwight D. Boesiger, and sister Mary Lynn Callen. A celebration of life is pending.
