Marcia Janette Lanphear

Marcia Janette Lanphear, 57, of Barnsdall, OK, passed away on November 4, 2024, in Skiatook, Oklahoma. Born on January 29, 1967, to Sidney Lee Swift and Janice Kay Swift (Burton) in Pawhuska, Oklahoma, Marcia was a beacon of love and compassion throughout her life. After graduating high school, Marcia pursued her passion for helping others by embarking on a rewarding career in nursing. She earned her credentials as both an LPN and RN, and her dedication to her profession was recognized when she received the prestigious Dean Award in Nursing. Marcia's career spanned several esteemed institutions, including Jane Phillips Hospital, Blue Cross Blue Shield, and OSU Medical Center, where she left an indelible mark of kindness and care in the healthcare community. On September 23, 1988, Marcia married her soulmate, Derek Shawn Lanphear. Together, they built a beautiful life filled with love and laughter, raising two wonderful sons who were the pride of her heart. Marcia found her greatest joy in family, and nothing brought her more happiness than spending time with her grandchildren, creating cherished memories filled with laughter and play. Beyond her professional accomplishments and family devotion, Marcia had a zest for life that included fishing, playing the piano and flute, playing cards, sewing and quilting for the troops and nurturing her faith in Jesus Christ. Her warm spirit and infectious laughter touched everyone she met, and she had a unique ability to make those around her feel valued and loved. Marcia is preceded in death by, Sidney Lee Swift; Harold and Patsy Elkins, Charlie and Kathleen Swift, Andrew and Bessie Burton, and Jacob Edward Lanphear. She is survived by her loving husband, Derek Lanphear; her sons, Cody and wife Alex Lanphear, and Derek Shawn Lanphear and wife Jordyn Lanphear; her beloved grandchildren, Kamryn Raelynn Lanphear and Kris Kooper Lanphear, all of Barnsdall; her devoted mother, Janice K. Swift of Oologah; her sister, Cheryl and husband Fred Friend of Oologah; her niece, Katie and husband Johnny Brown; her nephews, Matthew and Luke Fenstermacher, and Conner Cottrell of Oologah; her niece, Christi and husband Brad Friend; and her grandnieces, Zoey, Braylee, and Madison of Oologah. A memorial service to celebrate Marcia's life will be held on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at the First Baptist Church of Barnsdall at 10:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Pawhuska Parent Ag Booster in memory of Marcia Lanphear, 88 Prue Ave., Pawhuska, OK 74056. Marcia's legacy of love, compassion, and joy will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew her. She will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
