Louise Reidy

Louise Taylor-Reidy was born November 15, 1934 in Mt. Judea, Arkansas to parents Ralph and Euna (Hefley) Kent. Louise married Billy Gene Taylor on April 7, 1951 in Mt. Judea, AR. The couple moved to Bartlesville in 1953 when Bill got a job with Phillips. Bill preceded her in death on February 3, 1993. On July 1, 1995 Louise married Frank Reidy in Bartlesville, OK. Louise was a very caring and compassionate person. Family was always so very important to her, and she was always the “peacemaker” of the family. Faith was always an important aspect of her life, too, as she was a 50+ year member of the Adams Blvd Church of Christ and was very active in The World Bible School there. Louise spent her working career primarily in Treasury Services at Phillips Petroleum, and then after her retirement from there she worked at Plaza Medical Laboratory where she met Frank Reidy. She then worked at Tri County Tech. Louise was always active, and she liked to stay busy. She loved to volunteer to causes she cared about, such as OK Mozart, Jane Phillips Medical Center, the Price Tower, and the Mary Martha Outreach. Being a two-time cancer survivor herself, she had a special place in her heart for cancer patients, and most recently was wanting to donate quilts to children afflicted with the disease. Louise loved to quilt, and sharing her talent with someone that was suffering was something she was passionate about. Louise’s nurturing wasn’t limited to people, she was also able to nurse sick plants back to life, she had a sunroom full of beautiful plants. Louise was also a great cook, and her Apple Dumplings and Swedish Apple Pie were two of her specialties. Louise also enjoyed playing Bridge, reading, and sitting on her patio. Her husband Frank would add that among all of her many talents, supervising his work was one of her best. She always had a keen idea of what task Frank should be doing, and a clear understanding of how he should be doing it. Louise was a special, caring person, someone so willing to give to others. She will be greatly missed. Louise is survived by her husband, Frank of Bartlesville; her children Kent Taylor and wife Jamie of Owasso, OK, Cheri Ramsey and husband Phil of Oklahoma City, OK. She is s also survived by Frank’s children Frank Reidy, ll of Toledo, OH and Amy Reidy Stewart and husband Dave of Toledo, OH. Surviving grandchildren are William Danial Stokes and his wife Khristmas of Clarksville, TN, Taylor Brittney Stokes of Oklahoma City, OK and Clint Jordan Taylor of Owasso, OK. Great Grandchildren are Alexys Brianne Newton, Mackenzie Stokes, Devin Stokes, April Stokes, and Jettisen Stokes. She is also survived by sister Maxine Harvey of Hurst, Texas. The family will greet friends at the Stumpff Funeral Home on Monday, February 8, 2016 from 5-7 pm. Funeral Services will be Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at 10am in the Stumpff Chapel, with Graveside Rites being held at 2pm at the Calvary Cemetery in Tulsa, OK. In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to The Journey Home, 3406 SE Kentucky Ave.; Bartlesville, OK 74006 or via their website. The Journey Home is a non-profit organization and through them Louise was given the gift of a beautiful, quiet, and peaceful place to spend the last days of her life surrounded by family.
