MRS. LETA MAE EVANS Leta Mae “Leard” Evans, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, 76, passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2015. Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, March 12, at Ochelata Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Myers officiating. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 11, at Stumpff Funeral Home in Bartlesville. Leta Mae Leard was born Oct. 12, 1938, in Ochelata to Sarah Adeline “Addie” and David Jackson “Jick” Leard. She attended Ochelata School, graduating in 1956, and resided in Ochelata the majority of her life. Leta Mae married her high school sweetheart, Billy Eugene Evans, on March 2, 1956. To this union, five children were born: Charles “Duane,” Ernest “Ernie” Eugene, Robert Ray, Judy Ann and Jana Sue. Leta Mae spent her entire life making others happy. She was a true treasure — beautiful and caring. The world was a better place for her having lived in it. She was a wonderful homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved sewing and worked many hours on pajamas, blankets and other sewing projects for the children. She also liked to crochet and work puzzles. Leta Mae loved spending time with her sister Serena Smith on the family homestead in Ochelata. Survivors include two sons, Charles Duane and wife Brenda Evans of Nowata, Robert Ray and wife Deanna Evans of Bartlesville; two daughters, Judy Ann Viles of Ochelata, Jana Sue and husband Jeff Hardiman of Ochelata; a sister, Serena and husband Raymond Smith of Ochelata; 12 grandchildren and their spouses, Kristi and Matt Carter, Mandy and Rick Wesson, Bruce and Hayley Evans, Fred and Teresa Evans, Tiffany and James Conditt, Justin Viles, Josh Viles, David and Ashley Evans, Melissa Evans, Grace Evans, Jackson Hardiman and Jennifer Hardiman; a special friend, Bill Tom Maguire; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Leta Mae was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Eugene Evans; a son, Ernest “Ernie” Eugene Evans; her parents, Sarah Adeline “Addie” and David “Jick” Jackson Leard; her brother, Gene E.
