Mrs. JOYCE AILENE COOK Joyce Ailene Cook, 59, resident of Claremore, former longtime Oologah resident, died at 11:30 P.M. on Saturday at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. Funeral Services for Mrs. Cook will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Eastern Hills Baptist Church in Claremore, with Pastor Phil Tallman officiating, and interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Nowata under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory of Bartlesville. The family will receive friends and have a visitation from 6 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday May 31st 2013 at the Stumpff-Nowata Funeral Home. A Memorial has been established in her name to the Safenet Services Inc. 1219 W. Dupont Claremore, OK. 74017. Mrs. Cook was born on October 30, 1953 at Nowata Oklahoma to Leroy and Ruby Lilly (Thomas) McKay. She was raised and received her education in Nowata public schools, where she later completed her GED. Following her schooling at Nowata she moved to the Oologah area in 1974, where she was employed at Dr. Stauffer’s office in medical administration. She later attended the Bryant Institute in Tulsa, where she received her certified nursing assistant training. She was married to Earl Mynatt, and they made their home in the Oologah area. She continued to make her home in Oologah until the mid 1990’s, until moving to the Claremore area the past few years, to be close to her family . Her hobbies were shooting pool, dancing, and spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Cook is survived by her two sons Don McKay and wife Leona of Claremore, Ken McKay and wife Tracy of Inola, and by a sister; Dorothy Belle Tucker of Claremore, by five grandchildren, Ethan McKay and wife Kelsey of Owasso, Bailey McKay of Claremore, Brody McKay and Clayton McKay, both of Inola, and Skylar Kihega of Claremore; by six nieces and nephews; Ernie Armstrong and wife Cindy of Leonard, Oklahoma, Steve Armstrong and wife Jamie of South Coffeyville, Oklahoma, Sandy Tucker Edwards of Claremore, Rusty Jones of Claremore, Debbie Brewington and Kathy Meek, both of Wann, Oklahoma, and by numerous other nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by three brothers; Ted Charles Thompson Sr., Bill McKay and Donald Lee McKay and by two sisters; Adeline Hendrix and Tiny Hendrix.
