John (Jack) Fredrick Stanczak August 20, 1955-July 9, 2022 Whether it was to laugh with, to cry with, or as kids to get into a little trouble with, Jack was the type of friend you could always count on, no matter what. He was a man that was bigger than life but a man with a heart of gold. Jack grew up in Chula Vista, California enjoying baseball, dirt bike riding and a close knit group of friends, many of whom he stayed in touch with throughout his life. As a young adult, he met the love of his life, Sherry, and after marrying in 1989 moved to Alpine, California, where they began their family, having sons Travis and Troy who were welcomed by his daughter Jackie Lynn. Having the urge to travel around the USA, they eventually sold their home and bought a motor home, spending a year on the road seeing the sights until they settled in Skiatook, Oklahoma. While on the road he left his beloved 1957 GMC 4WD truck project in storage. The huge truck that had been an extension of his personality from his early 20’s, eventually got its own home in the form of a large shop Jack had built on his property to work on the restoration of this favored vehicle. Jack enjoyed several careers over his lifetime a few allowing him to show his skills as a master welder, his managerial skills, and eventually enjoying the freedom he felt as a multi state truck driver. Jack loved life! He loved his family and loved to have a good time. He enjoyed camping with his family and friends. He had a great passion for cooking and sharing cooking tips. He often said that his goal was to make every person he met smile, and at that he was a success. He never met a stranger. If someone needed help, he would be there immediately. Jack loved his constant companion Cabo, his beloved English Mastiff, who left us in 2020. Born to Frank Joseph and Martha Jean (Terrill) Stanczak on August 20, 1955, Jack was the second to the youngest of six children. On Saturday July 9, 2022 at the age of 66, Jack left us all too soon, preceded in death by both of his parents. He is survived by his wife Sherry of 32 years, sons Travis (Chelsea) and Troy, daughter Jackie Lynn (Brad), grandchildren Samantha, Tyler, Anastasia and Alexander, his brothers Chip and Joe, his sisters Barbra, Patty and Meegan and their spouses as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and numerous friends. A Celebration of Life will be held for Jack on August 20, 2022, the venue as yet to be determined. In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. This organization had a special place in his and his mother’s heart. A private celebration of life is being held for family and close friends. Please contact the family for details.
