John Abran Martinez

John Abran Martinez, age 71 passed away July 31, 2024 at his home in Barnsdall Oklahoma. He was born September 14, 1952 in Long Beach California to Manuel Ocataviano Martinez and Ava Charlene Draper. On September 11, 1976 he married Kathy Darlene Babb and the two were married until her passing April 25, 2018. He then remarried Katherine Elezabeth Toon June 2, 2019. John worked at Baker Hughes/Petrolite from June 30, 1990 until his retirement in 2011. In 2019 he began working at Bartlesville Assisted Living and later leaving in 2023. After retiring from 21 years at Baker Hughes he cared for his wife for many years at home, he was devoted to her for 42 years. John was an amazing husband and father. He enjoyed cooking and was the Best! He enjoyed playing golf and taking his stepson Timothy the last few years of his life. He loved spending time with his family and friends and riding his motorcycle. Let’s not forget his hobby of playing the slot machine on his phone! (of which he would ignore your call at times because it was intense). He loved going to concerts and out with his wife Katherine. He loved being a grandpa without a doubt. John loved the residents at the Bartlesville Assisted living center and their families. He is highly spoken of by many of the employees and friends. John was loved and he loved well. He was such a great dad and grandpa. He has made an impact on so many. His faith in God was unwavered and he leaned on it throughout his life, and it has grown more and more even up to the day he was received in Glory. John is preceded in death by His parents Marty and Charlene Martinez and his late wife Kathy Darlene Martinez. He is survived by his Wife Katherine Martinez of the home. Sons’ John and his wife Delores of California, Jason and his wife Jayme of Barnsdall and Timothy of Barnsdall; Daughters Christy and her husband Matt of Claremore, Angela and her husband Marty of Collinsville, Amanda and her husband Danny of Bartlesville; Grandchildren, Tapanga, Alyssa and husband Skylar, Brent, Andrew and wife Rossy, Ariel, Jakob, Christian, Katie, Cammeron, Olivia, Maura, Amanda, John Jr, and Oscar; Great Grands, Brynnlee, Danny, Alyssa, and Octaviah; Sisters Patricia and her husband Robert of California, Jeanie Benart of California as well as many brother & sister in laws, nephews and nieces. John loved his family very much!
