MR. JOE “FRED” HOLLAND OBITUARY Joe “Fred” Holland, 88, entered into eternal peace at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 20, 2014 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma, surrounded by his daughter and close friends. Fred was born on June 4, 1926 in Westville, Oklahoma to Robert B. and Eula D. (Choate) Holland. He was raised and graduated from Westville High School. He was married to Reba “Oletha” Robinson Holland, his best friend and life-long dance partner, on June 13, 1953 at Nowata, Oklahoma. She preceded him death in 2000. Fred was devoted to his family. He loved animals, children, dancing, spending time with his friends and playing the fiddle. Fred served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Germany. Fred retired from Phillips Petroleum Company as a Facilities Manager in 1983 after 38 years of service. Fred also owned his own company, Holland Homes Construction Company. Fred loved building houses and did so for over thirty years. Mr. Holland is survived by his loving daughter and the light of his life, Janice Spurgeon of Bartlesville; his grand-puppies, Zoe and Max, who he adored; Judy Parnell of Nowata, a very special person in his life; a niece Shirley Troxell and her husband Jerry Troxell of Bartlesville; a nephew Lawrence Wilkie and wife Jan Wilkie of Bartlesville; and two sister-in-laws, Beverly Allen of Dewey and Jerrie Smith and her husband Leroy Smith of Lebanon Tennessee; and by his great nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by his parents, Robert B. and Eula D. Choate, and by two half-brothers Lloyd Wilkie and Ray Wilkie. A visitation will be held at Stumpff funeral home, located at 1600 S.E. Washington Blvd., Bartlesville, Oklahoma, from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, June 23, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the City Church of Bartlesville 4222 S.E. Rice Creek Road (formerly Life Church), with Rev. Mark Turner, pastor of the church officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
