Jerry Raymond Hicks

Funeral services for Jerry Raymond Hicks, 67 of Skiatook, Oklahoma will be held Monday, October 24, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the Community of Christ Church in Skiatook with Pastor John King and Alane King officiating. Interment in Osage Garden Cemetery in Skiatook, Oklahoma will be under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home. Casket bearers for the service will be Seth Carter, Jonah Carter, Chandler Hicks, Joe Raymond Hicks, Jimmy Dale Hicks, Jason Hicks, Dalton Hicks and Larry Michael Hicks. Musical selections for the service are "I Am Going" Dave King as vocalist "Come To Jesus" with Willie King as vocalist and "Shine On Us" with the King Family as vocalists. Jerry passed away on October 19, 2011 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was born December 5, 1943 in Alexandria, Louisiana to Raymond and Evelyn (Kelso) Hicks. His family moved to Skiatook when he was six years old where he was a graduate of Skiatook High School. Jerry married Roberta Turner on June 29, 1963 in Skiatook. He worked as a tool maker to support his family. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family and telling jokes. He was proud of his grandchildren and enjoyed telling others of their accomplishments. Jerry was a member of the Community of Christ Church where he was an active member of the priesthood. He was willing to do any job he was asked even as his health failed. Jerry touched many lives while here on earth and will be missed by all. He is survived by his wife Roberta of the home, three children: Micheal Hicks and wife Suzanne of Tulsa; Michelle Carter and Chris Hoffman of Owasso; Stefanie Anderson and husband Ty of Skiatook; 10 grandchildren: Dustin Hilley and Mykeia of Miami, FL; Chandler, Claire, Olivia Hicks all of Tulsa; Seth Carter of Owasso; Joshua Carter of Cameron, OK; Jonah, Noah , Casey Carter all of Skiatook; and Tyler Anderson of Lathrop, MO; three great grandchildren: Dustin Jr. and Dominic Hilley of Miami, FL; and Addison Carter of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; brothers: Jim Hicks of Skiatook; Larry Hicks and wife Carol of Ramona; Joe Hicks and wife Gwen of Pawnee, Danny Hicks and wife Vonnie of Skiatook; two half brothers Guy H. White Jr. and Carl L. White, two half sisters: Sharron F. Black and Gerri L. Hofius all of Glendale, AZ. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Joe and Selma Hicks, his father and mother Raymond and Evelyn and step mother Alene Hicks.
