Jeanette Marie Spann Jeanette Marie Spann, 61, of Bartlesville, awoke to eternity at 1:12 P.M. on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Tulsa. Friends and family are encouraged to attend a Life Celebration Service at 12:15 P.M. on Monday at Believers Church in Tulsa, located at 4705 S.E. Memorial Drive, Tulsa which will follow a brief graveside service to be held at 9:30 A.M. Monday at the Dewey Cemetery in Dewey, Oklahoma. Pastor Roger Nix of Believers Church will officiate and lunch will be served immediately following the services at the church. Funeral arrangements under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory in Bartlesville. Friends who wish may call for visitation at the Stumpff Funeral Home from 9 A.M. until 9 P.M. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. A memorial fund has been established and the family requests memorial donations to be made to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Tulsa Green Country Chapter, 601 S. Boulder Ave., Suite 1300, Tulsa, Oklahoma 74119. Mrs. Spann was born on September 19, 1950 in Tulsa to George Prentice and Reta Marie (January) Riley. She grew up in and received her education in the Ochelata area and graduated from Ochelata High School in 1968. She was employed by Phillips Petroleum Company for a number of years until her retirement after serving with the SAP Support Team. She then became employed at the 66 Federal Credit Union as a mortgage loan auditor. Jeanette was married to Joe Gayle Spann at the Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church in Bartlesville on March 12, 1972 and they have made their home in Bartlesville since that time. She had been a member of Toastmasters and had been successful in their regional competitions. She was an active member of Believers Church in Tulsa for the past 13 years where she and her husband served as Life Group leaders. She was a certified canine behaviorist and was also a published poet. In honor of her three grandchildren fighting Type I diabetes, she was active in fundraising for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. Mrs. Spann is survived by her husband, Joe G. Spann of Bartlesville, one daughter, Christina Gayle Cook of Bartlesville, one son, Joe David Spann and his wife Anjanette of Tulsa, her mother, Reta Marie Riley of Bartlesville, one sister, Frances King and her husband Glen of Colcord, Okla., and seven grandchildren, Rachel Cook, Parker Cook, Sophia Spann, Josselyn Spann, Norah Spann, Forest Cook and Jude Spann. She was preceded in death by her father, two brothers, Dennis Riley and George Riley, one sister-in-law, Karen Riley and one grandson, Phoenix Cook. These are the thing she did and the people she knew, but by no means the full sum of who she was. She was Mwa, Nana, Mommy,daughter, sister, friend, lover, and wife.
