MRS. JANICE C. SWIFT Janice C. Swift, 68, of Barnsdall, died at 7:25 A.M. on Wednesday January 30th at the Barnsdall Nursing Home, in Barnsdall. Memorial Services will be held for Mrs. Swift at 2:00 P.M. on Friday February 8, 2013 at the Cornerstone Community Church in Barnsdall, with Pastor Brian Long of the Cornerstone Community Church officiating. Memorial Services and cremation arrangements will be under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. Mrs. Swift was born on November 22, 1944 at Barnsdall, Oklahoma to Lonnie Samuel & Velva Marie (Copeland) Barkley. She was raised and received her early education at Barnsdall. She was united in marriage to Jack W. Swift on March 28 1961 at Barnsdall. They lived in the Dallas, Texas area for several years, until returning to Barnsdall in 1970, making their home there the rest of their married life. They had recently celebrated 52 years of marriage. Mrs. Swift was an active member of the Cornerstone Community Church at Barnsdall, and had helped with the Barnsdall Ambulance Service for a number of years, and had worked at the Barnsdall Nursing Home as a Certified Medical Assistant, and as a Med Tech, and as a cook for a number of years. Her hobbies included bowling, ceramics and many arts and crafts. She loved everyone and had a big heart. Mrs. Swift is survived by her husband Jack W. Swift of the home in Barnsdall, by two sons Jackie W. Swift Jr. and his wife Maria of Barnsdall, Lonnie D. Swift and his wife Kyra of Wagoner, Oklahoma by one daughter Mrs. Jeanna Muse and her husband Paul of Barnsdall, by two brothers, Vernon Barkley and his wife Denise of Barnsdall, and Bobby Barkley and his wife Helen of Lenapah, Oklahoma and by a sister Mrs. Eunice Watson of Barnsdall, by 10 grandchildren; Krystal Alsup of Barnsdall, Karrie Gosney and her husband Sam of Avant, Oklahoma, Dustin Swift and Bradley Swift and wife Nikki both of Barnsdall, Brooklynn Swift and Jacob Swift, both of Wagoner, and Dylan Swift of Lawrenceburg, Tennessee, and Matthew Muse and Tabitha Muse, both of Barnsdall; by six great-grandchildren, Tanner Alicia and Carter Gosney all of Avant, and Gracie, Rylee and Addyson Swift of Barnsdall. She was preceded in death by her parents, and by a brother, Ivan Barkley, by a sister, Wanda Aultz, by a grandchild Bethany Swift, and by a great grandchild Chelsea Gosney.
