Janet "Sue" McCauley

Janet “Sue” (Pattillo) McCauley, 68, of Barnsdall, Oklahoma passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020. She was born in Tulsa, OK on April 15, 1951, to Jack Charles Pattillo and Mildred Naomi (Bracken) Pattillo. She grew up in the Skiatook, OK area and attended Skiatook Public Schools until graduation in 1969. Shortly after graduation, she married Ron Northcutt and they moved to the Sedan, KS area and raised two children, Ronald Shawn Northcutt, and Kimberly Dawn Northcutt. She spent several years working as a waitress in Elgin, KS at Margaret’s Cafe and then began a long career as a bookkeeper at the Pleasant Valley Manor nursing home in Sedan, KS. In 1993, she moved to Barnsdall, OK and married Edward McCauley. She began working at Baker Petrolite in 2010 and retired from Baker Hughes in Barnsdall, OK on March 31, 2016. Even after retirement she never stopped working. Sue had a zest for life and loved to cook and entertain everyone. She was well known for her fried chicken and blackberry cobbler. Nobody ever left her home hungry or without a “to-go” plate or dish. She was also passionate about raising money for the American Cancer Society and over the years raised tens of thousands of dollars along with her teammates. She gave great hugs, was always concerned with being the peacemaker and welcomed all with open arms. Sue was proceeded in death by her parents, Jack and Mildred, brother Mike, and her beloved Aunt Betty and Uncle Jim. Sue is survived by her husband, Edward McCauley of Barnsdall; son Shawn Northcutt and spouse Dana of Burbank, OK; daughter Kimberly Northcutt and spouse Casey Miller of rural Nowata, OK; two grandsons, Logan and Blain Northcutt of Burbank, OK. Additionally, three brothers, Jack Pattillo and wife Nancy of Barnsdall, Phil Pattillo and wife Geri of Skiatook and Tom Pattillo and wife Debbie of Skiatook; one sister Kay Helm and husband Steve of Buhler, KS, and sister in law Anne Pattillo of Grand Prairie, TX. In addition, three stepsons, Mark, Chet, and Richard McCauley and his spouse Kim along with five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was also was loved by amazing nieces, nephews, and cousins. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations made in her memory to the American Cancer Society or the Center for Disease Foundation to support research for the Corona Virus/Covid19.
