Imogene K Chambers

Imogene K Chambers passed away on December 23, 2022, at the age of 94. She was born on August 6, 1928, in Paden, Oklahoma, to Odes Klutts and Lillie (Southard) Klutts. Following her graduation from Paden high school, Paden, ok., dr. Chambers received a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics from east central state university, at Ada, ok. Then continued her education, receiving a masters, and later a doctorate in educational administration from Oklahoma State University, Stillwater, Oklahoma. After teaching mathematics at Marlow high school, Marlow, Oklahoma, in 1950 she and her husband Richard moved to Bartlesville, where she was employed in the central office, of Bartlesville schools until 1988 when she retired as assistant superintendent and treasurer. At that time, she served part time as treasurer and consultant for Bartlesville schools, and as a consultant for the state department of education for 5 years, implementing the Oklahoma cost accounting system for all public schools in Oklahoma. Dr. Chambers also served as the administrator for the Oklahoma School Insurance Association. Dr. Chambers served as a director for Plaza National Bank in Bartlesville, and for mutual girls club. She was an active member of the Methodist Church; rotary club; and Bartlesville chamber of commerce; as well as Oklahoma Assn. of School business officials; international assn. Of school business officials: cooperative council of school administrators; and Phi Delta Kappa Dr. Chambers was a registered school business administrator, and a subject of biographical record in marquis; who's who of American women; who's who in American education; who's who in south and southwest; and the recipient of the 1993 ASBO International Eagle Service award. Dr. Chambers was preceded in death by her father, Odes Klutts; mother, Lillie Klutts; husband, Richard Lee Chambers; and brother, Lavoy Klutts. She is survived by her brother, Walter Joe Klutts, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends.
