Gretta Sue Hess Snyder Gretta Sue Hess Snyder, 77, of Bartlesville, OK, ended her earthly journey on Thursday, April 2, 2015. Gretta was born August 11, 1937, in Bartlesville, OK, the daughter of Joe Hess and Mildred Jolley Hess. She had two younger brothers, Jody and Jimmy. She was a member of the Bartlesville College High School Class of 1955. She went on to attend college at Oklahoma A & M. In 1956, her daughter, Debra was born, later followed by two sons, Don and Derek. She went to work for Phillips Petroleum Company in 1970, in the marketing department. It was there that she met the love of her life, Cecil, and the two were married on June 4, 1971, in Bartlesville. With this union, she gained two more children, Tamra and Troy. She found great joy participating in the Philtones Choral Group where she was able to travel and perform in shows and musicals, until her retirement in 1986. She continued her love for singing for many years with the First Wesleyan Choir. Her number one passion in life was her love for her lord and savior, Jesus Christ. This was followed by a deep love for animals, especially her kitties. Gretta also enjoyed cooking excellent meals for her family, which included an annual Christmas cookie baking and decorating party. She was fond of swimming, water aerobics, spending time with friends, and participating in bible study groups. In her later years, she was a humble caregiver for several of her elderly family members. Gretta is survived by her husband, Cecil Snyder, of the home; brother Jimmy Hess and wife Linda, of Bartlesville, OK; daughter Debra Statham Patrick and husband Tom, of Coweta, OK; son Don Statham and wife Henrietta, of East Meredith, NY; son Derek Statham and wife Marty, of Valencia, CA; step-daughter Tamra Snyder Rogers and husband Rusty, of Ochelata, OK; step-son Troy Snyder and wife Carolyn, of Keller, TX; eight grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, one nephew, three nieces, and her precious kitty, Sweetie. She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Jody. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 8, 2015, at First Wesleyan Church of Bartlesville, OK, at 1:30 PM, under the officiating of Pastor Joe Colaw. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery in Bartlesville.
