Glenn Edward Davis Glenn Edward Davis, 75, of Bartlesville, died at 6:11 P.M. on Friday, November 8, 2013 at the Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa. Glenn, beloved husband and father, was born on May 27, 1938 in Flushing, New York to Leonard E. and Martha (Unger) Davis. He grew up in a loving home where he earned his Eagle Award from the Boy Scouts of America and received his education in Springfield Township, Union County, New Jersey at Jonathan Dayton Regional High School where he graduated in 1956. Glenn attended Muhlenberg College in Allentown, Pennsylvania where he earned his degree in Sociology and was a member of Alpha Tau Omega. He attended Rutgers Law School in Newark, New Jersey where he received his Juris Doctorate and served as the associate editor of the Rutgers Law Review from 1961 to 1963. During that time Glenn was employed at a clearing house as a clerk. He was drafted into the United States Army where he served until receiving his Honorable Discharge. Mr. Davis was married to Gail Ann Smith on April 10, 1965 in Cranford, New Jersey. He was employed with the Joseph Doran Law Firm in Trenton, New Jersey and was then employed with Gulf Oil Company in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania from 1970 until 1977. He came to Bartlesville in 1977 as a corporate attorney in pipeline and maritime law for Phillips Petroleum Company. During this time, Glenn was a board member of Aleyeska Pipeline, Explorer Pipeline, Dixie Pipeline and Trans-Alaska Pipeline. Glenn was a member of the American Association of Oil Pipelines and the Maritime Law Association of the United States. He married Linda Kiy Fowler on June 14, 1986 in Bartlesville and they have made their home here since that time. Following his retirement from Phillips in 1994, he opened the Glenn E. Davis law firm in Bartlesville and was a public defender in Osage and Pawnee counties since 1998. During his time as a public defender, Glenn liked to “rap” between hearings and earned the title of “Crusty Crusader”. Glenn served as President of the Bartlesville Civic Ballet and for twenty years was in their production of the “Nutcracker” as “Father” in the first act and “Mother Ginger” in the second act. Glenn was also an active volunteer for Big Brothers & Big Sisters, serving as the emcee for their bowl-a-thon and their mascot, “Care Bear” in the annual Christmas parade. He held an honorary engineering degree from New Mexico State University, taught a legal class at Oklahoma Wesleyan University, was the first male Girl Scout Troop Leader of Troop # 267 in Bartlesville, a Y Indian Guide, an avid jogger and astronomer. Glenn had the honor of delivering his second daughter at home. He was a member of the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church. Survivors include his wife, Linda K. Davis, two daughters, Tracie Susan (Davis) Dehart and husband Russell of Brownsburg, Indiana, and Ashley Anne Davis of Bartlesville, and two grandchildren, Baylee Marcee’ Dehart and Jaidyn Renee’ Dehart of Brownsburg, Indiana and his dog, Bentley Unger Davis, He was preceded in death by his parents. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established for Polycystic Kidney Disease Research and those who wish may send their contributions to the National Kidney Foundation, 10600 S. Pennsylvania Ave, Suite 16-144, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma 73170-4256. Services for Mr. Davis will be held at 1:30 P.M. on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at the St. Luke’s Episcopal Church with Father T. Lee Stephens officiating. A reception will be held at the church immediately following the services. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory.
