Georgia Ann Wise

Georgia Ann Wise, a devoted Christian, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away peacefully on Monday, December 2nd, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones. She lived her 93 years of life, full of zest. Georgia was born to Helen and George Sanders on August 21st, 1931. She grew up in and around Caney, Kansas where she adored being around her sister Dorothy and brother J.D. She married the love of her life Robert Wise on May 15, 1955. The two of them enjoyed many adventures together, but their greatest one was getting to raise their two children, Rick and Lisa. While Bob worked for Phillips 66, Georgia took on the role of Mom and toted her children to multiple places around the world including, London, Columbia, Abu Dhabi, and many communities in the United States. Being a mom was her most prized possession and she worked hard making sure Rick and Lisa had all they needed and more. Georgia and Bob finally settled down in Bartlesville, Oklahoma in 1982. In 2016 she packed up and moved to Tyler, Texas where she was closer to family and her beloved “sister,” Gracie. She loved being a Texas resident but was still an Okie at heart. Her love for OSU never faded, even after having a son-in-law who always tried to convert her to a Texas Longhorn. In her time in Tyler, she enjoyed playing Bridge and attending Colonial Hills Baptist Church. In 2023, Georgia moved to McKinney, Texas where she was just down the street from her little Lisa. Georgia is survived by her daughter Lisa and husband David Wenzel of McKinney, TX; her siblings, Dorothy Howard of Perryton, TX and J.D. and wife Faith Sanders of Cedar Vale, Kansas; her grandchildren, Amanda and husband Marshall Corley of Athens, Tx, Rachel and husband Trey Groves of Guthrie, TX, Cody Wenzel of The Colony, TX, and Sara and husband Donny McCloud of Broken Arrow, OK; her great-grandchildren Clara, Kate and Graysin Corley and Stockton and Nash Groves; her favorite niece and four amazing nephews. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert Wise, son, Rick Wise, and her parents, Helen and George Sanders. A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, December 9th at 2:00pm at First Baptist Church in Bartlesville, Oklahoma In lieu of flowers please make donations in her name to the Wounded Warrior Project PO BOX 758516, Topeka, KS 66675.
