Floyd Leroy Jack

Floyd Leroy Jack, 96 of Dewey Oklahoma went to his glory October 7, 2024. Floyd was born Aug. 20,1928 in Ramona Ok. Floyd was preceded in glory by his wife Wanda (Sumpter) Jack, by his brothers John Wells, Carl Harris and Robert Harris and by great grandson Nicholas Robinson. Floyd enjoyed many years teaching in the Bartlesville school district, from teaching Wood Shop, Metal Work and Mechanical Drawing at Madison Jr. High to Drivers Education at College High School, Sooner High School and Tri County Vo-Tech. During his years of teaching he also enjoyed being a referee for the High Schools Basketball, Westling and Football teams. Floyd graduated from Ramona High School, Ramona Oklahoma where he won state in 1946, 1947 and 1948 in Class B for shot put. Floyd graduated twice from Oklahoma State University the first time when the university was called Oklahoma A & M and then with his Masters in Industrial Arts at OSU. While at OSU Floyd continued with his love of sports playing intramural soft ball and competing in track and field with discus, javelin and shot put. He was also a member of the Kiwanis Club and the American Legion and attended as frequently as he could. Floyd served his Country in the United States Army in the early 1950’s at Fort Bliss, Texas. During the years after Floyd retired he was active in the Oklahoma Senior Games winning medals in track and field for discus, javelin and shot put. Also winning medals in weight lifting while making friends across the country. Floyd is survived by his children and their spouses. Dianna and Hutch Hutcherson of Mannford Oklahoma. Linda and David Dyer of Ponca City Oklahoma. William and Lori Jack of Evans Colorado. Along with a multitude of grandchildren and great grandchildren. The Celebration of Floyd’s Life will be held on Monday October 14, 2024 at 1 PM with viewing from 11AM to 1PM at Stumpff Funeral Home 1600 SE Washington Blvd, Bartlesville Oklahoma. At the family’s request they would like casual attire with OSU clothing or colors. In lieu of flowers please maker donations to Saint Judes Childrens Hosptial and The Wounded Warrior Project
