Dorothy Elizabeth Aultz

With mournful hearts, we announce the passing of Dorothy Elizabeth Irwin Kelley Aultz of Barnsdall, OK on October 25, 2024. Dorothy was a doting mother and generous grandmother, known for her love for her sons and her enthusiastic work ethic. She poured her heart into everything she enjoyed; loved ones, hobbies, and working. Dorothy was born September 10th, 1944, in Berkeley, CA. She lived in Alameda, CA on the naval base for one year, until the family moved back to OK. She was raised in Barnsdall. She graduated from Barnsdall Public Schools in 1961. She married Jerry Leon Kelley on May 29th, 1964. She worked for ConocoPhillips for three years out of high school while attending Bartlesville Business College. She went on to have their two sons, Joseph Robert “Joe Bob” in 1966 and Carl in 1968. They were her pride and joy. She worked for Kelley Insurance for 10 years, Reta Pump for 13 years, and owned and operated Kelley Lumber altogether for 15 years. She married Leon Aultz June 10th, 1995. She was exceptional at basketball in high school, playing for Coach Joe Gilbert. Because of her six-foot stature, he nicknamed her “Big Un.” They made it to State during her time on the varsity team. She served in 4H as an adult while her sons were members. She drove the Barnsdall First Baptist Church Bus on Sunday mornings to pick up children, as well as serving as a Kid’s Sunday School Teacher for 12 years. She loved working and providing for her family in every way. Dorothy was preceded in death by her father and mother, James “Jim” Irwin and Pearl Keener Irwin, husband Jerry Leon Kelley, husband Leon Aultz, brother James Albert Irwin, and son Joseph Robert “Joe Bob” Kelley. She is survived by her sister Ida Mackin, son Carl Kelley with wife Suzanne, daughter-in-law Lara Kelley, grandchildren Brittanie White, Cassandra Kelley, Kaycie Hall, Jerry Kelley, Cassidy Jonker, Tiffany Kelley, and Braden Kelley and their significant others, and great grandchildren Addison Kirchner, Ellie Porter, Nathan White, Peyton Dawson, Hendrik Jonker, and Nolan Hall. A Celebration of Life will be held at Barnsdall Assembly of God on November 2, 2024, at 11:00AM.
