Donna Kay McDonald

Donna Kay McDonald passed away at her home on September 26, 2022, after a lengthy illness. She was born on June 28, 1955, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to C.B. McDonald Jr and Phyllis McDonald. Donna suffered from Turner's syndrome, which included cognitive challenges and small stature. Non the less, Donna enjoyed a fun and full life. She lived in several group homes as a child and settled back in Bartlesville to live in our mother's condo in the grove with her care givers. Donna loved to swim, fish, birthdays, Braum's ice cream, traveling, working puzzles and staying up late at night. She liked to shop at Dollar Tree and the bookstores. Although she could neither read nor write, she loved books. Her truly favorite things were butterflies. She loved watching them and had them pictured on many of her shirts and other items. Donna liked everyone. She would ask you when your birthday was and could remember it forever. She could even tell you what day your birthday would be on several years in the future. She worked at the sheltered workshop in Bartlesville for a number of years where she cleaned ceramic items for firing and sorted baby clothes. She loved traveling to Idaho to visit family, go in the jet boat and fish. She was also able to attend her brother's wedding in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Donna was preceded in death by her mother and father; her McDonald and Fisher grandparents; and brother, Charles Burnett McDonald III. She is survived by her sister, Susan Mahan and Susan's husband Jim of Lewiston, Idaho, uncles Mike Mahan(Krista) of Walla Walla, Wa. and David Mahan of Lewiston ID, nieces, Malorie Hinkins, Spokane, WA, Lexie Flinner, Walla Walla, WA. And Nicole Jones of Milwaukee, Wis., sister-in-law, Connie McDonald of Albuquerque, N.M. And Mary McDonald of Bartlesville. A memorial service will be Wednesday October 5,2022 at 2Pm. It will be held at Donna’s residence, 1550 Pecan Place Bartlesville, OK 74003. Cremation has taken place and Donna was placed in the mausoleum (Bartlesville) next to her parents. The family would like to thank all of Donna's care givers in both Vinita and Bartlesville for the excellent care she received during her lifetime.
