DONALD CUMMIN Donald Clair “Brick” Cummin, 89, resident of Dewey, died at 9:49 AM, Monday in Dewey. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Thursday in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel in Bartlesville. Donald “Brick” Cummin, 89, of Dewey died Monday October 31, 2016, at his home. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, November 3, 2016 at 10 AM in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation will follow. Donald was born on March 29, 1927 in rural Havana, Kansas to Arthur and Gladys Cummin. He grew up in the Deer Creek area and completed high school at Wayside, Kansas. After discharge from the Army, Donald married Doris Aileen Blom on May 7, 1950. They lived in the Havana, Kansas area until 1957 and made their home in Dewey in 1962. Donald worked in the oil field with various companies including Layton Oil Co., and retired from the maintenance department at the Phillips Petroleum Co. Brick enjoyed caring for his family and neighbors, playing cards, gardening, hunting, auctioning, traveling, going to the farm and watching Price is Right and Wheel of Fortune. He had the ability to talk to anyone. Survivors include two daughters, Laura Richardson of Moore, Ok and Karen Harris of Watonga, Ok, one son, Chris Cummin and his wife Joann of Festus Mo, five grandchildren, Brian Richardson, Sarah Krittenbrink, Anna Kroener, Elizabeth Pope and Kristie Harris, nine great grandchildren and numerous nephews, nieces, and friends. He will be missed.
