David Wayne Becker

David Wayne Becker, born on October 21st of 1978, to Ardythe Gale Simmons Becker and Wilbur Jay Becker. He was the second of four children with an older brother Michael, younger sister Lacey, younger brother Matthew, and half-sister Brandy. David grew up with his family and friends in Caney, Kansas in a big two-story house on High Street. As a kid David enjoyed playing G.I. Joes, playing outside, watching cartoons, and WWF as a kid with his big brother Mike, and eventually his little sister Lacey too. His favorite WWF wrestlers were Stone Cold Steve Austin and The Ultimate Warrior. He enjoyed spending time at Grandma and Grandpa Kroh’s house as a kid too, where he spent all day with his siblings playing and getting spoiled. As David grew up, he went to Caney Valley Public Schools where he eventually graduated in the class of 1998. During that time, he enjoyed playing football with the boys almost every night, baseball which he was exceptional at, and kickboxing which he enjoyed until he, and I quote, “got tired of getting punched in the face.” But most of all his biggest hobby and passion was weightlifting, which he continued to do on a regular basis for the rest of his life, David even almost missed Prom because he wanted to lift weights instead. David also enjoyed video Games, movies and playing pool. As David became a young adult, he began working hard immediately (A trait he would keep his entire life) at first at Sears as a shipping and receiving handler, briefly as a roofer, then onto Asplundh Tree Service where he worked for nearly 10 years, starting from the ground up, eventually making General Foreman. Although David excelled as an Arborist he was burnt out and wanted more for his family. So, with the help of a family friend Dwayne Neville, David made his transition to Linework which was his true calling that he gave his all to and was top tier at. He was a proud Journeyman Lineman and nearly never missed a day of work or call-in. He was referred to as, by many, “Diamond Dave. “Professionally and personally he was highly respected by everyone who had the pleasure to know him and work by his side. David worked for the Davis H Elliot Company for 15 years. But above all else for David was his kids who he loved and cherished more than anything (even his career and weightlifting). Asheton David Becker is his oldest, born to Sarah, his at the time girlfriend, who was born in 2000. His second born was Haven Lynn Becker to his ex-wife Nadasha, in 2007. And finally, his youngest, Dawson Wilbur Becker, born in 2013 was also born to Nadasha. David was a very charismatic and loving father, always playing with and teasing his kids. Most importantly David was a caring parent who was always dependable, and a phone call away if he wasn’t right next to you. He carried the same traits and passion into fatherhood that made him succeed professionally and personally. His kids will carry on his work ethic, his morals and his compassion as he intended. He may be gone but his legacy will live forever as long as the last name “Becker” exists. This obituary could go on and on, but in conclusion David was respected and loved by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him. He was a loved and cherished colleague, friend, son, brother, and father. His memory will never be forgotten, and he will be remembered and loved in our hearts forever. We believe in our family he is up there with his dad Wilbur and grandpa Kroh having a BBQ and playing pool. And (Yes probably lifting weights.) He is Survived by his Grandmother Lanora, His Mother Gale, His Brother Michael, His Brother Matthew, His Sister Lacey, His Sister Brandy, His Son Asheton, His Daughter Haven and his Son Dawson.
