Cora LaVola LaRue Cora LaVola LaRue, 81, former resident of Bartlesville, died Saturday December 8, 2012, in Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 13, 2012, in the Adams Boulevard Church of Christ with Mr. David Hammonds officiating. Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. A memorial has been established and those who wish to make a contribution in memory of Mrs. LaRue may do so to: Hope Harbor Children’s Home P.O. Box 1047 Claremore, Oklahoma 74018. Cora LaVola LaRue was born November 30, 1931 at Jerusalem, Arkansas to Samuel Elmer and Ora Elizabeth (Reid) Blankenship. She was raised and received her education in Jerusalem, Arkansas graduating high school there. Mrs. LaRue worked as a secretary for Blue Cross and Blue Shield Insurance Company in Tulsa, Oklahoma for a brief time. She met and married Harold Eugene LaRue on December 30, 1950 at Tulsa. They lived in Tulsa and Texas before moving to Bartlesville in 1957. She lived in Bartlesville until moving with family in Houston, Texas in 2008. Mrs. LaRue attended the 6th and Dewey Church of Christ, Limestone Church of Christ, Dewey Church of Christ, Adams Boulevard Church of Christ and the Nowata Church of Christ where she was very active in Bible study classes. Mrs. LaRue was also a member of the Oklahoma Writers Guilds and produced Poetry. She was strongly dedicated to the Lord and her family. Survivors include; three sons James Lowell LaRue and his wife Dianne of Newark, Arkansas, Mark Edwin LaRue and his wife Patricia of Houston, Texas and Paul Francis LaRue and his wife Becky of Lawton, Oklahoma; one daughter LaVola Jeanette Bielert and her husband Tim of Spring, Texas; fourteen grandchildren; Rebekah Ann LaRue, Leia Lynn LaRue Parks, Jamie Elizabeth LaRue Robinson, Lyle Hedgecock, Mark Samuel LaRue, Nathan LaRue, Bethany Frances LaRue Mire, Dean Alan LaRue, Devin Paul LaRue, Amber Nicole White, Lanay Bielert, Melody Bielert, Travis Bielert, Nicholas LaRue and great-grandchildren.
