Carol Williams

Carol Jo Williams was born to W.J. and Lavern Thrasher on June 6, 1942 and died on February 10, 2022. Carol grew up in Oklahoma City and kept in contact with her lifelong friends, Nita Cadenhead and Linda Wilmouth her entire life. Carol met Neil, the love of her life, at Aero Commander and six months later they were married on November 24, 1970. They shared a beautiful life together until his death in 2014. Carol and Neil lived in Oklahoma City for many years. Neil wanted to move home to Wynona, and Carol wasn't initially sure about the move, as she was a city girl. Talking to Carol later, she said moving to Wynona turned out for the best as Neil's family adopted Carol as their own. Carol loved to entertain and hosted Sunday dinners for the family for many years. Carol continued to host the family's Christmas dinner up until last Christmas, when she visited the ER. At one point Carol collected ducks and she had quite a collection - she finally told everyone "no more ducks". Carol loved to quilt and sew and was a member of her local quilting group. While in Oklahoma City, Carol was involved in a china painting group and had her own kiln. Carol enjoyed gardening and loved to cook. Linda Ware said she was going to miss trips to different green houses to buy flowers and said "we’ve been known to go all the way to Coffeyville Kansas looking for flowers". Carol always had a smile on her face and was a joy to be around. Carol loved to get together with friends and family. A favorite memory is playing rummy cubes and crazy bee and drinking wine together. Carol loved company and welcomed Carol Sue and her family into her home while Carol Sue sold her home and was moving into another home. I've heard that no one truly dies until no one mentions their name for the last time or has memories about them - that will be a long time. Carol's family included friends as well as relatives, and she is survived by her niece Tanya Pilant and her husband David Pilant of Houston; Charlotte and Richard Williams of Cleveland, Linda and Benny Ware of Elk City, Gary and Judi Martin of Wynona and Carol Sue and Larry Underhill of Cleveland, Tommye West of Midwest City and Jacqueline Pratt of Del City, as well as Tom Stephens, and Joe and Teresa Stephens. Friends that counted as family include Nita Cadenhead of Oklahoma City, Linda Wilmouth of Oklahoma City, Suzanne Faur of Edmond and Dianna Smith of Utah.
