Billye Jean Burman

Mrs. Billye Jean Burman, 91, of Bartlesville, went to join her beloved husband, Howard Richard Burman and other family members in their Heavenly home early Thursday morning, January 25, 2018. Visitation for Mrs. Burman will be held at the Stumpff Funeral Home on Saturday & Sunday from 9 AM until 8 P.M. and the Burman family will receive guests at the funeral home on Sunday from 3 P.M. until 5 P.M. Funeral services will be held at 10 A.M. on Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor William Shupe officiating. Interment will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery directed by the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. Casket escorts will include David Burman, Rick Burman, Paul Burman, Andy Burman and Kevin Lynch. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established and those who wish may send their contributions to the Redeemer Lutheran Church, 3700 S.E. Woodland Road, Bartlesville, Oklahoma, 74006. Mrs. Burman was born at Shidler, Oklahoma on October 29, 1926 the daughter of Dewey George “Dude” Bradshaw and Leta Faye (Wiley) Bradshaw. She grew up and received her education in Shidler until moving to Borger, Texas her senior year and graduated from high school there. She was employed with Phillips Petroleum Company in Borger, and it was there that she met the love of her life, Howard Richard Burman. They were married at Borger, Texas on February 2, 1946. They made their homes at Borger, Texas, Pasadena, Texas, Dumas, Texas, Titusville, Pennsylvania and then came to Bartlesville in 1980. Mr. Burman held various management assignments until his retirement in 1980 and Mrs. Burman was active as a homemaker. Following their retirement, they were avid travelers, golfers, and Mrs. Burman was a gourmet cook. She also enjoyed knitting, needlepoint and crochet. She was a member of the Questers and the Redeemer Lutheran Church. She was always happy and giving and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Burman is survived by three sons, Howard Richard Burman and wife Stephanie of Hockley, Texas, Roger L. Burman and wife Donna of Bartlesville, and James A. Burman and wife Betsy of Granite Bay, California, seven grandchildren, Rick Burman, Andy Burman, David Burman, Paul Burman, Brittany Konrad, Jessica Burman and Parker Burman, 16 great grandchildren and her friend and caregiver, Diana Mitchell to whom the family would like to extend their deepest thanks for her care and companionship for the past four and one half years. Mrs. Burman was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howard Richard Burman on October 28, 2008, a brother, Jack Bradshaw and a sister, Johnnye Presnell.
