Beverly W Burton

Beverly Jean Warma Burton, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, teacher, and follower of Christ, passed away peacefully at her home on December 03, 2024, surrounded by the love of her family. Her life was a testament to faith, love, and a steadfast commitment to serving others. Born on July 25, 1945, during her father’s deployment in the Pacific during World War II, Beverly was the firstborn child of Harold Christian Warma and Allene Ethel Warma. She grew up in Ramona, Oklahoma, alongside her siblings, H.C. and Debbie, before her family moved to Skiatook in 1959. It was there, as a student at Skiatook High School, that she met the love of her life, Ronnie Lynn Burton. Beverly and Ronnie’s love story was one of unwavering devotion, spanning 65 years of partnership. After graduating from Skiatook High School, Beverly pursued her passion for teaching at Oklahoma State University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. On January 25, 1967, she and Ronnie were married, beginning a beautiful life together rooted in faith and love. The couple began their teaching careers in Beggs, Oklahoma, where Beverly dedicated herself to shaping young lives as a Home Economics teacher at Beggs Public Schools. During these years, she also embraced her most cherished role as a mother to Krista and Kyle. In 1976, the Burtons moved to Collinsville, Oklahoma, where Beverly continued her teaching journey at Skiatook High School, forming lifelong friendships and memories. In 1991, she joined Collinsville Public Schools, where she continued to inspire students with her kindness, wisdom, and passion for life skills. Beverly’s faith in Jesus was the cornerstone of her life. She and Ronnie served faithfully as 2nd-grade Sunday School teachers at First Baptist Church in Collinsville for many years, sharing their love of Christ with generations of children. Her faith was evident in her daily life, demonstrated by the love and patience she showed her family. Beverly had a deep passion for teaching others, whether it was how to cook, how to scrapbook, or how to walk in faith. She hosted “cooking classes” for her grandchildren and neighborhood children, creating cherished memories around the kitchen table. Beverly also shared her love of crafting by teaching scrapbook classes in her home, creating spaces for connection and creativity. Above all, Beverly’s greatest joy was her relationship with Jesus and the love she shared with her beloved Ronnie. Their bond was a beautiful example of a Christ-centered marriage, built on faith, trust, and mutual devotion. Beverly is survived by her husband, Ronnie, her siblings H.C. and spouse Caroline Warma; Debbie and spouse Clyde McCane; her children, Krista Burton and Kyle and his spouse Lisa Burton; her grandchildren, Bradley and Ashley; many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews, countless friends and former students whose lives she touched. Her legacy of faith, love, and service will continue to inspire those who knew her. A private celebration of her life and faith will be held for her family to come together to honor her extraordinary journey. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 to fight childhood cancer in memory of Beverly’s Christlike care for others.
