Anna C Sheets

Anna, C. Sheets died at her home in Baptist Village of Owasso, Oklahoma. Ann was born August 21, 1927, in Collins, Missouri to William L. Carpenter and Mary M. (Baumgardener) Carpenter. She grew up and received her education in the Collins, Missouri area. She married John A. Sheets in Burlington, Kansas on August 29, 1946. They came to Bartlesville in April 1947 where John worked at Phillips Petroleum Company for 43 years until he retired in June 1985 from the telecommunications department. Ann was a homemaker and worked for the Dewey and Bartlesville Public Schools until she retired in 1985 from her duties as head baker at Central Jr. High School. She was a member of the Washington County Home Demonstration Club, and her church affiliations included The First Christian Church in Dewey, Town and Country Christian Church in Bartlesville, Church of Christ in Dewey and Stone Canyon Church of Christ in Owasso. Survivors include one son and his wife, Larry and Glenda Sheets of Nowata, Oklahoma; one daughter and her husband, Wanda and Kenneth Knight of Fernandina Beach, Florida; one brother and his wife, Vernon and Joan Carpenter of Raymore, Missouri; two grandsons, Roy Sheets of Lake Worth, Florida; and Bryan Sheets and his wife Brandy; son, B.J. and daughter, Lyla of Asheboro, North Carolina; and daughter-in-law, Judy Sheets; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ann was preceded in death by her husband, John; son, Calvin; and infant daughter, Carol Ann; as well as three of her brothers, Bill, Jack and John Carpenter; and four of her sisters, Elsie Epperson, Rose Stephens, Leota HoneyField and Ruth Hemmenway; plus, numerous brothers-in law, sisters-in-law, nieces and nephews. Ann requested that we not heap flowers upon her grave but remember her by performing acts of kindness of others. If you wish to send a contribution in her memory, suggestions include contributions to Shiloh Christian Children’s Ranch of Shelbina, Missouri, The First Christian Church in Dewey, Baptist Village in Owasso, or to your favorite church or Charity. Funeral Services will be Saturday, March 16, 2024, at 10:00 AM First Christian Church of Dewey with Casey Ross Parham officiating. Interment will be in the Dewey Cemetery under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home.
