Steven Guffey

Steven Guffey born June 14, 1965, departed from us on February 15th, 2024, to join the Lord at the age of 58. Steven, born to Harold and Linda Guffey in Missouri, was raised in Skiatook, Oklahoma, where he completed his education. Throughout his life, Steven dedicated many years working in service stations, a foundation that instilled in him a strong work ethic from a young age. He carried the values he learned into every aspect of his life until his final moments. In September of 1986, Steven embraced the joy of fatherhood as he welcomed his only child, his daughter Ashley Summer. His pride as a father later extended to his role as “Papa Steve” in 2008, titles that brought him tremendous joy and fulfillment. Steve’s career in the construction industry allowed him to travel and explore most of the 50 states in the United States. Steve loved to golf and made sure to always find the best course to get in a game in each state he had the pleasure of visiting while he was working. His favorite football team was the Kansas City Chiefs. I’m sure most have heard him yell “THEEEE CHIEFS” on more than one occasion. His passion for music and the way he could change up any song to match his Guffey energy was something completely out of this world. He had the talent to make a car ride with him become a whole Guffey concert. The way he would blare the music and turn his steering wheel into a drum set was complete talent, Steve Guffey talent that is. His passion for his family and friends was known by all. If you were with Steve you could be sure to hear laughter. Even if that was him laughing at his own jokes, which happened more often than not. He always had the best stories and jokes. I’m sure most of you can agree that Guffey laugh was something that he will always be remembered by. That is one of the many things he leaves behind with us. That infectious laugh and sense of humor, but mostly his compassion for helping others. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Linda Guffey. Sister Natalie Hamilton. Best friend Michael (Mutley) Tilley, Also his faithful dog and long time travel partner Sissy. Left behind to cherish his memory, his daughter Ashley Watkins, son in law Shannon Watkins, 5 grandchildren, Shalee, Blake, Logan, Brooklyn and Samuel. 2 grand grandchildren Bentlee and Ava. one sister, Lea Guffey; two brothers, Gary Guffey; Harold Guffey; Brother in law, Bob Hamilton; his latest faithful dog and best friend BUDDY ROE and a host of nieces and nephews he loved and cherished. Along with many other family and friends, will always cherish his memory. Steve leaves behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and unwavering love for his family and friends. His ability to bring people together and create lasting memories will never be forgotten. His wish to be an organ donor reflects his selfless nature and his desire to help others even in his passing. His family seen out that wish. His love for helping other will continue to live on even without him physical here. Pallbearers will be, grandsons; Logan Collins, Blake Watkins, Samuel Avalos, nephews; Gary Guffey Jr, Wayne Harvey, Bobby Hamilton, Jacob Guffey, and Steven Hamilton. Honorary Pallbearers will be, Gary Guffey, Harold Guffey, Bob Hamilton, Shannon Watkins, Owen Collins and Dave Driskill. A service to celebrate Steven’s life will be held, with Roy Lee Peters officiating. Pallbearers and honorary pallbearers will include family members and close friends who shared special connections with Steven. Flowers, donations, and condolences may be offered at Stumpff Skiatook Funeral Home in memory of Steven. Steven Guffey will be dearly missed but forever remembered for the love and joy he brought into the lives of those around him.
