Doris Jean Young

At the close of the Rosary, a slide show honoring Doris Jean Young will be shown and anyone that wishes will have the opportunity to share memories. On November 12, 2021, heaven gained a beautiful angel. Our Mom, Doris Jean Young was born to Sam and Mildred Pinkerton on January 7, 1944 in Fresno, California. From California, the family moved to Ft. Smith, AR, then Bartlesville, OK before residing in Ochelata, OK. Doris attended Bartlesville and Ochelata schools. While attending school in Ochelata, she met the love of her life Forrest (Frosty) Young. They were married on December 20, 1958. During the early years of their marriage, while Forrest served in the United States Army, they lived in Georgia, Tennessee, Kentucky, Kansas, and Germany. After Army life they made their home in Ochelata, then Dewey, before finally residing back in Ochelata, OK. Some of the places she worked that were blessed with her impeccable work ethic included, Gibsons, Ray’s Thrift-T-Wise, WestStar bank, Dewey City Hall, and Town of Ochelata. Although she held many work titles during her lifetime, her favorites were Mom, Gramma, Granny, little Aunt Doris and friend. She was loved by all. She was very involved in many of her children’s activities mainly sporting events, cub scouts, and serving as home-room mother. Over the years she was active in the Town of Ochelata serving as Council Person, Mayor, Clerk, and Treasurer. Mom was a very selfless person who was always putting others before herself. She was an excellent cook and loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her brother, Jerry Pinkerton of Ochelata; sister, Sharon Tucker of Sallisaw, OK; Children, Andy Young and wife Shelley of Ochelata; Kim Robinson of Ochelata and friend Mike Woodward of Ramona; Belinda Buoy and fiance Michael Street of Bartlesville; Grandchildren, Drew & Angela Kinney and children Nate, Sam, and Lucas; Nycole & Tyler Waggoner and son Case; Josh & Brooke Young and daughter Saige; Katie Robinson & Jonathan Robertson and children Olivia, Ethan, and Grayson; Autumn Street and son Dominic; A.J. Young; Blake Buoy; Gabby Street; Anna Jean Young; Miranda Street and Mikey Street. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Mildred Pinkerton; husband, Forrest Young; sister, Lois Padgett and husband Earl; sister-in-law Jennie Pinkerton; husband, Frank McCormick Rosary will be 6 PM Tuesday, November 16, 2021 in the Stumpff Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral Mass will be at 1 PM on Wednesday, November 16, 2021 at the St. John Before The Latin Gate Catholic Church in Bartlesville. Interment will be in the Ochelata Cemetery.
