Debra Childress

Funeral Services for Debra Ann Childress, 39, of Skiatook, Oklahoma will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, November 9, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church with Reverend David Stephenson officiating. Interment in Little Cemetery in Seminole, Oklahoma will be at 3:30 p.m., under the direction of Peters-Stumpff Funeral Home. Casket bearers for the service are Eric Childress, Brian Duncan, Daniel Frick, T.J. Wyrick, Coby Gabbard and Steve Fowler. Congregational hymns for the service were Old Rugged Cross and Amazing Grace . Debra passed away on November 4, 2009. She was born in Tulsa, OK on the morning of March 29, 1970 to Bob and Susie Partain. She married in 1988 and gave birth to Zachary Childress on May 9, 1990. Zach was the core of her life. As a youth she was the first girl to play under 8 soccer in Skiatook, OK she continued to play through her adult life. She was also active in the Skiatook FFA program where she won several awards and livestock championships. Deb graduated from the Tulsa Vocational School with honors and later attended and graduated from the Bartlesville Vocational School with honors in a different discipline. She was a lifelong proponent of education and strongly believed in the opportunities provided by vocational education. Debra lived her live full-throttle and everyone in her life was better for it. Being mediocre around Deb simply wouldnt do. She would give you one of many famous looks, say Well?!, and then drive on without you fully expecting you to follow. The beauty and strength of her personality was such that you did follow and always were a better and stronger person for doing so. Deb was an avid fisher, horseback rider, soccer player, scuba diver and motorcyclist. On a moments notice she would set aside whatever she was doing to help a friend in need. Service to others was an integral part of her character. Some of that shined through her participation in Patriot Guards and a thousand other out-of-her way moments for those in her life. Debra is survived by the light of her life, her son Zachary, her parents Bob and Susie Partain, her grandparents Doyle and Shirley Berry, a sister and brother in law Diana and Bill Monson of Tulsa, a brother and sister in law Tommy and Heather Partain of Amarillo, a honorary brother and sister in law Eric Childress and his wife Daphne of Shreveport, the extended Childress family, and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and a whole world of friends. Memorials can be made to the Patriot Guards.
