Dana "Kaye" Bounds

Let it be joyfully known that Dana Kaye Hughes Bounds lived a life of faith in Jesus and service to others and entered the arms of her Savior and her heavenly rest on Monday, February 6, 2023. She was the wife of Glen Bounds; mother of Brent Bounds and Candis Grover; mother-in-law of Jenni Bounds and Dennis Grover; grandmother of Griffin, Wyatt, and Sawyer Bounds and Amity, Vivien, and Edie Grover; daughter of the late Cosby and Pixie Hill Hughes; sister of the late Pixie Hunter; sister-in-law to Keith Hunter, the late Charles Bounds and the late Laverne Bounds, Joyce Archer, Linda and John Bloom, and Rita and Bill Belding; aunt to Brian Hunter, the late Steve Bounds, Delwin Archer, Karen Adolphus, Vonda Carney, Sherri Morrison, Terry Bloom, DeAnn Dean, Mark Bloom, and Damon Belding. Kaye was born in Pryor, Oklahoma on October 8, 1941. She graduated from Pryor High School; Anderson College/University, Indiana; and East Texas State University, Texas. She was an elementary school teacher, teaching fourth and fifth grades for over thirty years in Mesquite and Duncanville, Texas. She loved her students and their families. She adored Glen, her husband of 59 years. They were married on August 9, 1963, in Pryor, Oklahoma. Their love and admiration for each other was evident. Together they faithfully served their family, their church and their neighbors in every community they lived. She was a devoted mother who loved her children beyond words and provided an incredible model of what a parent should be. Other than Jesus, she found her greatest joy in her six grandchildren and relished her role as their “KK”. We come together to mourn our loss as people who had the great privilege of knowing and loving Kaye Bounds and miss her presence greatly. We also come to rejoice and thank God for the gift of Kaye’s life and to celebrate the power of Jesus’ resurrection because we are Easter people in life and in death. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Friday, February 10 at Stumpff Funeral Home. The interment at Graham Memorial Cemetery in Pryor, Oklahoma will be followed by a memorial service to be held at Hope Presbyterian Church in Bartlesville, Oklahoma at 2:00 pm on Saturday, February 11. Memorial donations may be made to Pine Cove Christian Camps.
