BARBARA CAROL BROWN Barbara Carol Brown, 48, resident of Bartlesville, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 in Bartlesville. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 in the Grace Community Church with Dr. Rod MacIlvaine officiating. Interment will be in the White Rose Cemetery under the direction of the Stumpff Funeral Home & Crematory. Barbara Carol Brown was born July 21, 1965 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma to Ivan Wayne and LaClaire Ruth (Fallert) Powell. She was a lifetime resident of Bartlesville, graduating from Bartlesville High School in 1984. Barbara attended the Oklahoma Wesleyan University where she received her Bachelors’ Degree in Education. She taught school in Barnsdall, Oklahoma for two years before beginning her career with Bartlesville Public Schools. Barbara was a third grade teacher with Ranch Heights School for twenty-one years and Teacher of the Year in 2007-2008 for the Bartlesville School System. She was married to Lance Brown on June 29, 1989 at Bartlesville. She was a member of the Grace Community Church and the Anna’s Bell’s Ovarian Cancer Group of the Tulsa area. Survivors include her husband Lance Brown of Bartlesville; Her mother LaClaire Ruth Powell; one son Derek Brown; two daughters Brianna Brown and Meredith Brown; two sisters Linda Powell, all of Bartlesville, and Susan Lee and her husband Ron of Collinsville, Oklahoma and several nieces and nephews.
